The Wild Works
HOST FAMILY EXPERIENCE
Wild Works started as a basketball camp in Connecticut in 2023. It has since grown into an international nonprofit and host family network, bringing young athletes across borders for basketball, cultural exchange, and college exposure they couldn't get any other way.
Mission
Wild Works uses the game of basketball to bring young women from around the world together and help them grow as world citizens. For our international players, the experience also doubles as a chance to visit US college campuses firsthand, before ever committing to a school.
IMPACT
18 host family matches since 2022, connecting players across three continents and counting.
Schools visited:
East Coast — UConn, Harvard, Columbia, Yale, Fordham, Sacred Heart, and more
West Coast — Berkeley, USF, San Jose State, and growing
4 international players who came through Wild Works have gone on to earn full D1 basketball scholarships.
